About Us

The Design Team

Jen Amundson | IDT

I graduated from the Interior Design program at NAIT in 2005. I jumped right into kitchen design at Heart and have had a passion for it ever since. I love that I have the opportunity to work with so many amazing homeowners and create such personal spaces for them that are unique to their families and their lifestyles. In 2018 my husband and I proudly became the new owners of Heart and haven’t looked back since!

Brittani Bonilla | IDT

When I graduated from the Interior Design Technology program at NAIT in 2017 I was so excited! I quickly learned that I have a love for anything custom and figuring out how to make things fit together in a way that’s both beautiful and functional. I believe that residential design is so important because a home is where we should feel the most at peace, so the spaces within it need to be not only pleasing to look at but reflect the uniqueness and lifestyle of the people who live in it.

Krystal Gaudet | AT

I’ve had a passion for residential home design since I was a little girl. I would pass the time drawing floor plans for families I made up in my head and would rake the leaves at the park into a floor plan on the ground. I graduated from the Architectural Technologist program at NAIT in 2004 and have focused on drafting and designing custom residential homes. With technology changing and home renovation shows everywhere, I decided to dive into 3D as well, allowing our customers to visualize our plan and their selections in their own home.

Al Schiewe | CKD

Al founded Heart in 1985. He has designed countless kitchens for many amazing clients. While he has set the stage for the level of service and quality that Heart stands by, he now spends his time on the golf course or playing with his grandkids.

Our Philosophy

We build things that last. We care about every detail.

Good design is a balance between aesthetics, functionality, and budget – we strive for the best possible design for your space. Our designers are among the most creative in the marketplace. What we care most about is lifestyle. Your kitchen should be designed around you and your life. When we work, we care most about helping you get the most out of your kitchen.

In our history, we’ve been fortunate to work in many of Edmonton’s premiere properties, develop relationships with diverse and talented colleagues in the design industry, and get to know countless, wonderful clients. We remain passionate and committed to creating functional, beautiful designs for each of our clients.
